Mindfulness Meditation with Tanya

I am a meditation instructor certified in Trauma, Compassion, and Mindfulness. My heart’s calling is to serve people navigating through grief, women recovering from substance abuse, and at-risk youth.

My Journey

My path to becoming a meditation instructor wasn’t straightforward. I’ve walked through the darkness of profound loss, experiencing firsthand the overwhelming heartache of losing loved ones. I’ve felt the crushing weight of depression and loneliness that follows such loss.

I’ve also lived through the complex struggles of addiction the shame, embarrassment, and the pain I caused both myself and those I love most. As a troubled teen, these early challenges eventually led to later addictions.

Despite growing up in a loving and happy home with the most beautiful and amazing mother, a phenomenal stepfather (though that term “stepfather” feels inadequate for the father and man he is), two loving & protective older brothers, and I’ve known the heartbreak of losing my older sister to her battle with addiction. I’ve also experienced painful trauma from outsiders as a young girl and physical abuse as an adult.

Transformation

At 55 years young, I’ve finally become the person I was always meant to be. This transformation didn’t happen overnight, nor did I walk this path alone. It began when I put my pride aside, admitted I needed help, and surrendered to the process.

I’ve learned that instead of carrying a victim mentality, I can embrace an attitude of gratitude and consciously shift how I perceive the world. This journey has taught me that healing happens in connection – with my higher power, with the loving support of family and friends, and with my program and sobriety sisters.

My Approach

Today, I stand before you as my authentic self. My past doesn’t define me, but it has shaped me into the compassionate and loving person I am now. I don’t live in shame for my history; instead, I’m proud that with support, I pulled myself out of the ashes and emerged as the Phoenix I am today – Flying free, and so can you!

This lived experience informs every aspect of my practice. I bring deep empathy, non-judgment, and practical wisdom to my work. I understand that healing isn’t linear, that vulnerability requires courage, and that transformation is possible even from the darkest places.

I believe in meeting you exactly where you are on your journey, offering tools and practices that honor your unique experience, and walking alongside you as you discover your own path forward.

I am a meditation instructor certified in Trauma, Compassion, and Mindfulness. I specialize in helping grieving individuals, Women in Recovery from Substance Abuse, and At-risk Youth.

I know in my heart that it’s my life’s calling to be of service to people dealing with the excruciating heartache of losing a loved one. I have felt the darkness, loneliness, and deep depression of losing the people I love most. I have also dealt with the ramifications of addiction. I know the disease, shame, embarrassment, humiliation, betrayal, and the hurt that was caused to the people I love most and caused to myself. I was also a troubled teen, which led me to my later addictions. Don’t get me wrong, I was raised in a wonderful home. My mother is the most amazing and loving woman on the planet, and my stepfather is a monumental father. As a matter of fact, I don’t even like the term stepfather because he is much more than that. I have two older brothers who loved and protected me. I’ve lost my older sister to her battle with addiction. I suffered horrible trauma from outsiders as a young girl and was physically abused as an adult. I have learned that instead of living with a victim mentality, I can live with an attitude of gratitude and change my mindset of how I perceive the world. So, I finally admitted to myself that I had issues and surrendered. I put my pride to the side and asked for help. I then took classes and got certified in a wonderful meditation program. It took me a very long time, but at 55 years young. I have finally become the person I was always meant to be. I realized that I couldn’t do it on my own and was only able to do this walking side by side with my higher power, with the loving support of my family and amazing friends, and my program and sobriety sisters. I am beyond grateful to be where I am. Now it’s my time to come full circle and be of service to those who are suffering. I say this to you because I am being my authentic self. I know my past doesn’t define me. But I do admit that my past has made me the compassionate and loving person that I am now. I don’t live in shame for what I’ve done, instead, I am proud that with support, I pulled myself out of the ashes and have become the Phoenix that I am. I’m flying free!
