Ruminating

Emotionally charged thoughts tend to overcomplicate things in our mind.

Much of our emotional turmoil occurs when we let ourselves get carried away by these thoughts.

Thoughts come and go on their own all the time. Even when meditating, it’s natural. When we become aware this is happening, we train our brain to refocus. This is why it’s called a practice.

Do not use these thoughts to form judgments about a situation, person, or place. We realize this it is what it is.

Take a step back to choose the perspective that empowers you, not the one that makes you more vulnerable to stress.

This requires an empathic understanding of yourself.

Remind yourself that you’re doing the best you can.

These unpleasant thoughts have no bearing on your worth or your ability to handle life’s inevitable stressors.
